The Pantoh Creator Agreement (“Agreement”) is a binding contract between you and CookingSocial, LLC (“we”, “us”, “our”). It contains the rules and restrictions that govern your use of CookingSocial’s products and services (referred to below simply as “Pantoh” or “the Pantoh app”) to make your recipes available to Pantoh users who buy a subscription to you through the Apple App Store or Google Play. If you use Pantoh for this purpose, you are a Creator. This Agreement supplements our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which are incorporated herein. In this Agreement, we refer to people that subscribe to you as “Subscribers”.
By becoming a creator in the Pantoh app, you agree to this Agreement and the Terms of Service, and this Agreement will remain in effect while you use Pantoh. This Agreement includes everything in this document, as well as those in the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and all other rules and procedures that may be published from time to time by us on the Pantoh app. In the event of any conflict between this Agreement and any other terms and conditions you have agreed to with Pantoh, this Agreement will prevail with respect to its subject matter. If we change this Agreement, we will tell you by push notification or email and post the new version. Changes take effect 60 days after we tell you; if you keep selling on Pantoh after that, you accept the new version.
If you’re agreeing to this Agreement on behalf of an organization or entity, you must be authorized to agree to this Agreement on that organization or entity’s behalf and bind them to this Agreement (in which case, the references to “you” and “your” throughout this document refer to that organization or entity).
If you don’t agree to all of the following, you may not use or access Pantoh in any manner. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns regarding the Agreement or our products and services, please contact us at support@pantoh.app.
Eligibility & Verification
- Age Requirement: You must be at least 18 years of age to monetize content.
- Identity Verification (KYC): You agree to provide accurate identification through Stripe, our payout partner. Pantoh reserves the right to withhold payouts if identity or tax information is incomplete or suspected of being fraudulent.
Content Standards & "No-AI" Warranty
- Human Authorship Warranty: You represent and warrant that the recipes you sell as paid content, including their text, photos and video, are your own original work. You may not sell content that was generated by artificial intelligence rather than created by you, such as recipe text written by a chatbot or large language model, or photos or video made by an AI image or video generator. Using tools to help with your own recipe — for example spelling and grammar checks, formatting, converting units or scaling servings, including tools Pantoh provides — is allowed, as long as the recipe itself and its photos and video are your own creation.
- Consequences of Violation: If Pantoh determines, in its sole discretion, that content was AI-generated, we reserve the right to:
- Immediately demonetize the content.
- Refund affected subscribers where the app store allows us to (clawing back funds from your balance).
- Terminate your Creator account.
- Intellectual Property: You retain ownership of your recipes. You grant Pantoh a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and use your content for the purpose of operating and promoting the platform. This includes showing a preview of your paid recipes on pantoh.app and in search results, which may include descriptive details such as the title, photo, description, your name and profile photo, preparation and cooking times, servings, difficulty, tags and categories (such as cuisine, diet and meal type), rating and number of reviews, the number of ingredients and steps, a few ingredient names, the first two steps, and your subscription price. The rest of a paid recipe is shown only to your Subscribers.
Financial Terms & Revenue Split
Pantoh utilizes a "Hybrid Payment Flow": In-App Purchases (IAP) for collection and Stripe for creator payouts.
- Revenue Calculation
- For every subscription payment, the "Net Revenue" payable to the Creator is calculated as follows:
- Gross Sale Price (e.g., $10.00)
- Less App Store Commission (Apple/Google typically deduct 15–30% per their 2026 developer terms).
- Less Pantoh Platform Fee (up to 15% of the remaining balance). Your current fee is shown in the Pantoh app before you set your price.
- Equals Creator Payout.
- Payouts
- Payouts are processed via Stripe or a third party processor. Pantoh pays Stripe’s fees for sending your payouts. Any fee your own bank charges you to receive a payout is yours. We pay you only after Apple or Google has paid us for the sale, which can take up to about 75 days. Payouts are made once your balance reaches US$25. A smaller balance carries over to the next payout until it reaches US$25. Payouts are made in US dollars. Sales in other currencies are converted at the exchange rate Apple or Google applied when they paid us, with no markup. When you leave Pantoh or delete your account, we pay any balance we owe you, whatever the amount.
- Tax and Global Reporting
- Apple and Google collect and remit sales tax and VAT on subscription purchases in the countries where they act as the seller. Where the price includes VAT (for example in the UK and the European Union), the VAT is deducted before the store’s fee and Pantoh’s fee are calculated, so a sale there earns you less than a sale at the same price where tax is added on top (for example in the United States). You remain responsible for income tax and any other taxes on the earnings paid to you. You are responsible for working out whether you need to register for VAT, GST or a similar tax where you live, and for registering and filing if you do.
Refunds & Subscriber Disputes
- No Platform Mediation: Pantoh is a facilitator, not a party to the contract between you and your subscriber. Pantoh will not mediate or intervene in disputes regarding the quality or accuracy of your recipes.
- IAP Refunds: Because all payments are processed through Apple or Google as in-app purchases, Subscribers must request refunds directly from Apple or Google Play.
- Clawbacks: If an App Store grants a refund to your subscriber, the amount credited to you for that payment will be debited from your Stripe balance or future earnings.
Liability Disclaimer & Indemnification
- Safety: You are solely responsible for ensuring your recipes are safe to follow, including by identifying applicable allergy or similar information. You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pantoh against any third-party claims arising from your recipes, including without limitation, claims that any recipe is unsafe, resulted in illness or injury, or violated the intellectual property rights of another.
- No Guarantee of Earnings: Pantoh does not guarantee any specific level of income or subscriber volume.
Leaving, Suspension & Your Subscribers
- Making your profile private: Making your profile private does not cancel your Subscribers’ subscriptions or stop new sales. Where available, Subscribers with an active subscription keep access to your paid recipes. To stop new sales, use Stop selling (below). The Pantoh app will tell you this before you make your profile private.
- Stopping sales: Where available, you may stop selling subscriptions at any time in the Pantoh app. New sales stop right away. Existing Subscribers keep access through the period they have already paid for. We cancel the renewal of Android subscriptions. Apple does not let us cancel iPhone subscriptions, so we tell your iPhone Subscribers how to cancel in their device settings. Once you stop selling, you cannot restart sales yourself; contact support to sell again.
- Suspension or termination by Pantoh: If we suspend or terminate your Creator account, we stop new sales and, where the app store allows it, renewals. Your existing Subscribers keep access through the period they have already paid for, unless the content itself violates this Agreement or our policies. Where available, we may hold your unpaid earnings while we review a suspected violation of this Agreement. We will tell you when we start a hold and why. Earnings tied to a violation may be forfeited or used to cover refunds, as described under Consequences of Violation. If the content itself breaks this Agreement or our policies, we may use your held earnings to refund Subscribers, for example by ending Android Subscribers’ access early and refunding the unused part of their period.
- Deleting your account: If you delete your account, where available, we stop new sales, cancel the renewal of Android subscriptions, and tell your Subscribers, including how iPhone Subscribers can cancel in their device settings. We pay you the earnings we owe you, whatever the amount, through our usual payout process once Apple or Google has paid us. If you have no payout account, we keep a record of the amount owed. We close your account right away and keep the records needed to pay you what we owe. Unlike your other recipes, which stay in Pantoh under the Pantoh account, your paid (subscriber-only) recipes are removed with your account, so no one can see them. After your account is erased, we keep a record of which version of this Agreement you accepted and when, without your name or contact details, for 2 years, so we can resolve any question about payments we made to you.
- App store limits: Apple does not allow us to cancel or refund an iOS subscription on a Subscriber’s behalf. iOS Subscribers cancel in their device settings and request refunds from Apple. Google allows us to cancel renewals for Android Subscribers.
