Ingredients
- 2 cupSifted all-purpose flour
- 1 tspBaking powder
- 0.5 tspSoda
- 0.5 tspSalt
- 2 tspGinger
- 0.5 tspAllspice
- 0.5 tspCinnamon
- 0.5 cupShortening, soft
- 0.5 cupBrown sugar, firmly packed
- 2Eggs
- 0.5 cupLight molasses
- 1 cupCooked oatmeal, cooled*

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices into bowl.

Add remaining ingredients. Beat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake in preheated moderate oven (375 F.) 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from cookie sheets; cool. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar, if desired.
