- Cooking spray
- 2(16.3-oz.) can refrigerated biscuits
- 2 lbItalian sausage, casings removed
- 0.25 cup(30 g.) all-purpose flour
- 5 cupWhole Milk
- pinchGround Cayenne Pepper
- Kosher Salt
- Ground Black Pepper, freshly
- 2 tbspUnsalted Butter, melted
- 1 tbspChives, thinly sliced
Instructions
- 1
Arrange a rack in center of oven; preheat to 375°. Grease a 13" x 9" baking dish with cooking spray. Cut biscuits into quarters and arrange half in prepared pan.

Bake biscuits until golden, 12 to 15 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a large skillet over medium heat, cook sausage, breaking up meat with a wooden spoon, until no longer pink, about 6 minutes. Add flour and cook, stirring, until just slightly darkened, about 1 minute more. Add milk and cayenne; season with salt and black pepper and whisk to combine.
- 4
Bring gravy to a boil, then reduce heat to medium and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until thickened, about 3 minutes.
- 5
Remove from heat and pour gravy over par-baked biscuits. Top with remaining biscuits. Brush biscuits with butter; season with black pepper.
- 6
Continue to bake until golden and cooked through, 20 to 25 minutes.
- 7
Top with chives.
